Thanks for coming to my website! I wanted to introduce myself and give a little backstory of who Asher's Emporium is and what we do.
My name is Emily! I am a first time mom to a wild little monster who keeps me busy... so I decided to start my own "side hustle" to add to the chaos.
I was a full time veterinary technician until the pandemic of COVID-19 happened - for the safety of my (at the time) 4 month old daughter, my husband and I decided it would be best for me to limit contact with the public and stay home. I felt useless... unable to be helpful in the middle of the madness...
So I decided to try my hand at making masks and it BLEW up even more than I could imagine! I started out with making & donating 40 to a local NICU staff. Along the way I have donated to our local Chick-Fil-A team, various nurses and sold masks for our local pharmacy/thrift stores to have available to the public (as well as friends/family). Now 700+ mask and counting deep into this thing, I decided I needed a website to better show what prints I have available and for anyone who is not local to be able to reach out to me.
Fast Forward to today (Oct 2021) - I have branched away from masks and moved into selling on Etsy (link at the top of the page!) with custom tumblers, shirts, stickers and more! I've gone back to working part time vet tech at an amazing clinic who works with me on my schedule to continue to grow my side business and still spend time with my now spirited toddler.
We will eventually this website up and running to be able to offer multiple shopping platforms and more items! In the mean time...
If you don't already know... yep! Asher is our dog. He is an 80 lb German Shepherd we adopted about 8 years ago. He was uncontrollable and annoying - but for some reason we adopted him anyway (and don't regret it one bit)! Through all his stubbornness though, he was one of the happiest dogs we have ever met, which brought us to his name...
Asher in the text of the Torah states that the name of Asher means "happy" or "blessing". (Now I'll be honest, my family is not Jewish - however we are extremely open minded and enjoy learning about all different types of religion).
I wanted to have something meaningful and close to heart - this dog has been a huge blessing to our family. He is the perfect mascot for happiness that is handmade. :)
